Once you have your adwords account activated, your keywords and creative uploaded and you are officially launched…don’t go searching for your ads!
It always amazes me how many times a new advertiser/client will call and ask me what is going on with their account because they cannot find their ad when searching.
I urge clients not to search for their ads as this can ultimately affect not only your click-thru-rate, but also your Quality Score. Accumulating impressions without clicks can compromise your ad…there is even a term called impression fraud, but that is another blog altogether.
If you really want to see your ad in action, use the Ad Preview Tool that is under the Tools tab in the adwords interface. This is pretty handy and very easy to use. It will tell you whether or not your ad is showing. It will also diagnose your ad if it isn’t showing.
This will help you understand what action needs to happen in order to get your ad showing again. Perhaps you need to simply adjust your bid or daily budget.
