eMarketer recently posted a very interesting article, Do Digital-Only Agencies Need to Evolve? We have experienced this first hand.  As marketing opportunities continue to evolve, and more and more ‘niche’ sectors are carved out, the need for an agency with the ability to, as we like to say, ‘make sense of it all’, is becoming even more important.

Niche marketing channels are great, but if you are not careful, before you know it you have multiple firms in charge of multiple platforms and none of them are complementing one another.  Call it integrated, cohesive, comprehensive…or whatever term you prefer, the fact is that it’s more important today than it ever has been due to the mind-boggling number of new options available.

Nothing works in a vacuum.  And only focusing on one niche sector simply is not enough.  Who knows what tomorrow holds.  Newspaper and TV have changed dramatically.  Who would have imagined the fall from the top that Myspace experienced and how quickly Facebook has become king.  But what happens when ‘the next Facebook’ comes along and all those hours spent only focusing your efforts on Facebook are meaningless.  Or what about the next big Goggle update and all those eggs in that SEO basket are gone.

Of course we are not saying that we’d abandon Facebook or your SEO efforts, rather be certain those are only pieces of your overall integrated marketing puzzle.
