We continue to see clients (and potential clients) that end up in bad web relationship break-ups. It’s becoming predictable, and frustrating. Frustrating that there are companies out there promising and claiming to be this and that, when the reality is they are not. Frustrating that companies looking to outsource their marketing efforts get themselves into these bad relationships.
Here’s a very simple way to lower the risk of entering into this kind of relationship…look at their website. Does it look like they know what they are doing? Do you like the way it looks? Do you want yours to look similar? Are they using ‘Comic Sans’?
You hear us say “we make sense of it all”. And it’s true. We are not claiming to be experts in ‘all-things-marketing’, who can be? That’s a big claim to make. But one thing we are very, very good at is making sense of it all. If it’s a project that we simply do not have the experience and knowledge to take on, or we are just not comfortable with…guess what? We’ll let you know. It makes no sense to over-promise and under-deliver. Who does it benefit?
Relationships, of any kind, need to have a certain level of trust and comfort. A certain ‘feeling’ that you know you’ve made the right decision. Small business owners know that gut feeling they get. It’s often the one to follow.
So when it’s time to look for a marketing firm to work with, visit their website and see how it makes you ‘feel’.
